Metrotile for Self-Build Homes
How to Build a Roof and get a 40 Year Guarantee!
Self-build houses are really taking off at the moment, with rising house prices fuelling things like the tiny house movement where people are making their own miniature houses to bring down living costs. And the fact is building your own house is a lot cheaper than buying one. It may be hard work, but the satisfaction of living in a house you’ve built cannot be topped!
Your Own Virtual Teacher
At Metrotile we’re all for people getting their hands dirty with some DIY and building their own homes, so we’ve gone to extra lengths to give you a helping hand with our steel roofing. We’ve made detailed guides that walk you through every stage of installing our tiles, from batten spacing to nailing points. And we’ve made a series of video tutorials to demonstrate any complicated areas, including how to install Velux skylights and various types of ventilation. All of the videos have been made in a studio environment, so everything is as clear as can be. They’re available on our website completely free, along with our downloadable guides and you can always give us a call if you get stuck.
40 Year Weatherproof Guarantee
All of our steel roofing products are extensively tested for weather resistance and not just your standard wind and rain, they’ve also been tested to resist cyclones in Japan! That’s why we’re confident in giving our 40 year weatherproof guarantee, but the good news is that you can also receive this guarantee even if you installed them yourself. To get the guarantee, all you have to do is receive a visit by a Metrotile representative to approve your installation and then you get all the benefits received from our other customers.
Get the Style You Want
Metrotile profiles may be made from modern materials with the latest technology, but it’s still possible to achieve a traditional look. All of our roof tiles have been designed to replicate the many traditional styles available, so you can have a North American style shingle tile roof, as well as slate, roman tiles and traditional pantile. Take a look at these photos below/to the side to see all of the different styles you can achieve.
Make an Energy Efficient Home
As well as reducing costs by building your own home, you can also continue to reduce your outgoings by installing photovoltaic solar panels and save money on your energy bills. They’ve been designed to blend perfectly with the tiles so your roof will still look great whilst saving the planet! And you’ll be one step ahead of the times, as the government are aiming for all new houses to be net zero carbon by 2016.
Take a look at our website for more information about our steel roofing products, or give us a call on 01249 658514 and we can talk you through your options. Happy building!
