To help make finding technical information about our products easier and to aid design, Metrotile products can now be found on two National Building Specification (NBS) services.

NBS has been producing specification products for over 40 years and their services cover construction, landscape design, and engineering services. They are part of RIBA and aim to provide ‘innovative specification and information solutions to construction industry professionals.’

Metrotile can now be found on two of their services to make specifying our products easier.

NBS Plus

NBS Plus is a resource containing approximately 20,000 products from over 600 manufacturers. It is linked to clause guidance in multiple NBS specification tools and is regularly updated with manufacturer information.

Users of NBS Create can locate products in NBS Plus and use them to plan their construction and specify parts. You can see the Metrotile products that are available in NBS Plus on our Riba Product Selector page.

NBS National BIM Library

The NBS National BIM Library contains a vast amount of digital 3D products that can be used for CAD processes during design and planning. A selection of Metrotile products have recently been added to the library so that users can select lightweight roof tiles and add to their CAD model.

The BIM (Building Information Modelling) objects can be downloaded for free and have been made to comply with the NBS BIM Object Standard. This is a global standard that provide BIM objects of high quality and a common data set.

We currently have 9 of our products available on the NBS National BIM Library. Users can download 3D versions and view object guides that contain details of the product and tile profile information.
