Metrotile UK, based in Chippenham, Wiltshire, has been acquired by the Belgium-based Roof Tile Group (RoofTG). Metrotile will continue to exclusively distribute their lightweight steel roofing systems across the UK, in addition to gaining access to other renowned RoofTG brands such as Decra, Tilcor and Gerard. 

Directors Elaine Hulbert, Barry Jordan and David Padmore will continue in their roles overseeing day to day operations, although the acquisition means Metrotile UK has said goodbye to founder and longtime Managing Director John Cunningham, whom they would like to wish all the best for the future. 

Since its inception at the turn of the century, Metrotile’s UK market has grown to be the largest in Europe, with their lightweight steel roofing systems proving successful in a vast array of applications, from refurbishments to new-build homes, large scale school projects and leisure campuses to name just a few. Lightweight roofing has also been central to the success of conservatory solid roof conversions – enabling a full insulation system to be placed on conservatories effectively transforming them into ‘year round’ spaces, and Metrotile is also specified in the sustainable building sector with application on modular homes including buildings by Ilke Homes and the new Barrett Homes Z House.
