What is a Metrotile profile made from?
Metrotile is the market leading supplier in roof tiles, whatever the specified project. We’ve built on our long standing reputation by earning a number of accreditations and certificates, signifying a high quality roofing profile that’s suitable for any number of builds and properties. Our lightweight roofing utilises non-traditional materials in order to remain cost-effective and energy efficient.
Metrotile materials
Metal roofing is being used more and more for roofing projects, with recognition of its strength and energy efficient properties. Our profiles are made from drawing quality grade 3 steel, offering unrivalled strength and durability.
They are then coated with Aluzinc and primer protection on both surfaces to prepare our roofing for all manner of weather conditions, allowing for improved security against the elements and vandalism. Additional coatings are layered on to the weather side of the tiles to provide the stunning aesthetic we have come to be renowned for. This includes a colour acrylic base coat, natural stone chip granules and a clear acrylic over glaze.
Metrotile fittings
Each Metrotile is the equivalent of eight conventional roof tiles, making them much easier and simpler to fit than traditional roofing. This means it’s also much quicker to fit a Metrotile roof due to their larger size and lighter weight, meaning you can provide a better customer service. Metrotile testing
To earn our accreditations and certifications, we rigorously test our tile profiles to ensure we can back up our claims: our tests include freeze-thawing to extreme wind to fire resistance. We’re so confident, we even offer a 40 year weatherproof guarantee with all our steel roofing products!
